TechReady and MSSU

In February I will be attend two Microsoft conferences, TechReady and MSSU, in Seattle and Redmond.

The first is the internal TechEd. I am really looking forward to the opportunity to hear a lot of great session about all the cool technology.

The second, MSSU, is a week of Microsoft 1-0-1, brain washing, indoctrination, call it what you want. I am going to learn to do it “The Microsoft Way”.

An added benefit will be, that I get go spend a little time with my sister, brother-in-law and nephew.

Community Connection II – .NET best practices

Dependency Injection: patterns, principles and containers

My good friend Mark is going to speak on DI in Malmø on 18 November. This is a SWENUG event. It is really great that the community is working across the pond so xNUG members from Denmark can go visit and vise versa.

As always I look forward to hearing Mark speak as he is one of the most accomplished presenters around.

Mike Cohn on Leading a Self-Organizing Team

Wednesday 8 December I will be attending a “go home meeting” featuring the Scrum expert Mike Cohn. Really looking forward to it, as Mr. Cohn is one of the big names in this racket.

From his own description:

One of the challenges of agile is coming to grips with the role of leaders and managers of self-organizing teams. Many go to the extreme of refusing to exert any influence on their teams at all. Others retain too much of a command-and-control style. Leading a self-organizing team can be a fine line.

In this session you will learn the proper ways to influence the path taken by a team to solving the problems given to it. You will learn how to become comfortable in this role. You’ll understand why influencing a self-organizing team is neither sneaky nor inappropriate but is necessary.

CNUG Event: Unit testing with AutoFixture
